Pointillist｜HIROMI AOKI
Working with a 0.3 mm pen, the artist creates intricate pointillist drawings composed of countless individual dots.
Under the title “Shinkokyu” (Deep Breath), the artist has presented solo exhibitions throughout Japan. Having drawn since childhood, the artist has spent many years transforming deeply personal emotions and memories into the quiet language of pointillism.
Formed through the layering of countless dots, each work breathes in silence, gently touching the emotions and memories of every viewer.
Each piece carries a quiet warmth born from the experience of pain and loneliness. Behind its gentle colors and serene world lies a quiet hope—that beyond sorrow, people can find connection through the kindness of others.

The artist began a professional career in 2021.
In August 2025, the artist signed an exclusive representation agreement with Viridian Artists (New York, USA).
Following a highly acclaimed debut solo exhibition, the artist has continued to present solo exhibitions throughout Japan. To date, five solo exhibitions have been held, attracting more than 600 visitors in total.
Crowd funding campaigns accompanying these exhibitions have raised more than ¥5,243,500, reflecting the deep emotional connection the work has created with its audience.
In 2023, inspired by encounters with people living with epidermolysis bullosa (EB) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the artist began working to raise awareness of rare diseases and support those affected. Since then, the practice has expanded beyond artistic expression to include social engagement and advocacy.
In 2025, the artist exhibited work in New York, experiencing firsthand how art can transcend language and cultural boundaries to touch people through emotion alone. This became a profound affirmation of the universal power of artistic expression.
Today, while continuing both artistic practice and advocacy work, the artist remains dedicated to a single aspiration:
to help create a kinder world through art.
